The maker of the hugely popular FIFA game franchise, Electronic Arts, has announced a new structure for the upcoming season of FIFAe and a prize pool that includes over $4.3 million in guaranteed prize money.
FIFAe has now changed the structure to include three competitive divisions for the upcoming season involving players, clubs, and nations with new qualification opportunities for each segment.
According to EA, competitors will have the opportunity to represent their favorite club in the FIFAe Club Series, compete for national pride in the FIFAe Nations Series, or “create their own legacy in the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series on the Road to the FIFAe World Cup.”
Two of the events, the FIFAe World Cup and the FIFAe Nations Series, now feature a revamped $500K prize pool, with the FIFAe Club Series at $350K. Another $3M in prizes will be distributed by EA across qualifiers, regional playoffs, and the eChampions League.
FIFA has announced that registration for the FIFAe Club Series is open and teams and players can sign-up for play. The FIFAe Club Series will start online in November 2020, with the best performing teams of the qualification competing at the FIFAe Club World Cup in 2021.
