LaMelo Skips Big Baller Brand And Signs Endorsement Deal With Puma

LaMelo Ball has chosen to skip signing with his dad’s Big Baller Brand label and has inked a multi-year endorsement deal with Puma. LaMelo will now become one of the key faces of the brand at just 19 years of age.

“I am really excited to be joining the Puma family,” LaMelo said. “I believe the brand is the perfect partner for me because Puma will allow me to just be myself. I want to be 100 percent authentic, whether that’s playing basketball or showing off my personal style, and that’s what I want to do with Puma.”

LaMelo is widely considered to be the top overall NBA draft prospect and his first Puma product will be revealed on November 18, 2020, coinciding with the NBA draft. Some would scoff at LaMelo getting a major shoe contract before playing a single possession of NBA basketball, but LaMelo also brings an already established fan base with 5.6 million Instagram followers.

“LaMelo’s physical gifts and dynamic play on the court, as well as his unique sense of personal style, make him a natural fit for Puma,” said Adam Petrick, the company’s global director of brand and marketing. “We are thrilled to add him to our roster of talented athletes, and at just 19 years old, we can’t wait to see his impact on the broader culture surrounding basketball.”

We’ll definitely be watching to see if LaMelo actually delivers as an NBA prospect and whether he can live up to the hype.
