Sixers vs. Bulls 1/17/20 Notes And Predictions

The 26-16 Philadelphia 76ers are set to take on the 15-27 Chicago Bulls tonight in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center in an eastern conference match up. Joel Embiid is scheduled to miss the game as he is still dealing with a torn ligament in his hand. The injury recovery time was last listed as 1-2 weeks.

The Chicago Bulls are dealing with a litany of injuries to basically their entire roster. 8 players are listed on their injury report with a definite outs and some players listed as questionable or probable.

The spread on this game is Sixers -7 and vice versa Bulls +7. A strong case can be made for the Sixers to cover the seven pretty easily. The Sixers are still one of the best home teams in the entire NBA and are facing a lackluster opponent that is missing key pieces.

The Sixers are definitely missing a huge offensive piece with Joel Embiid sidelined, but they’ve adjusted well to the situation by pushing the pace much quicker than with Embiid on the court through Simmons at point slashing and distributing to perimeter shooters.

Momentum certainly isn’t helping the Bulls right now, as they are on a skid, losing seven of their last nine games. The Bulls’ two wins in that stretch came against the Washington Wizards and the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons and Wizards are hardly good teams.

Take the Sixers here to cover the seven. Maybe buy the half-point and take it at -120 at -6.5.
